SALARY:   $48,822 - $75,675 annually

DESCRIPTION:

To continue this trend of excellence, the City Planning Division is recruiting for a Planner I that is skilled in problem-solving, team-oriented participation, has excellent written/verbal communication skills and customer service skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Reviews sign permits, building permits, and landscape plan reviews and associated inspections.
• Conducts zoning enforcement activities and ensures compliance against all applicable requirements of the Unified Development Ordinance and any zoning stipulations associated with a specific site or location. 
• Assists with development review and pre-application review meetings.
• Reviews or assists in the review of development proposals, site plans, and plats.
• Attends bi-weekly evening Planning Commission meetings as necessary.
• Collects a variety of data, research, and prepare reports in support of planning studies and initiatives. 
• Answer general questions/interpret planning and zoning regulations to the public, applicants, as well as elected and appointed officials. 
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required. 

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

Experience: 0-2 years of experience in planning, permit review, or code enforcement. 

 
Education: Bachelor's degree in urban planning or related field. 

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

Typical Hours:  Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.  
Must successfully pass a background investigation, pre-employment physical, and drug screen.
