Statewide Travel Demand Modeling Manager | Up to $145,074/annually

This position has the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office at least one day per week and may be expected to work in the office more frequently on occasion.
Our Statewide Travel Demand Modeling Manager, lead the creation of MnDOT’s first statewide travel demand model and provide direction and leadership for statewide travel modeling more broadly. Additional responsibilities include:
- Lead the development, maintenance, enhancement, and use of a statewide travel demand model and associated modeling tools.
- Direct the integration of the statewide travel demand model with metropolitan planning organization models.
- Lead and guide travel demand modeling statewide, including building a new team to support modeling activities and services.
- Support the Transportation Impact Assessment Technical Advisory Committee and ensure MnDOT’s models meet committee requirements for greenhouse gas and vehicle miles travelled assessments.
Infrequent travel within the state, once per month on average, may be required to attend stakeholder meetings.

Here are the minimum qualifications:
Two years of managerial experience, OR three years of professional supervisory experience, OR four years of advanced professional level experience in travel demand modeling or forecasting.

- Technical: Expert knowledge and experience in travel demand modeling theory and practices. Advanced knowledge of the interrelationships and interdependencies among transportation, land use, community and economic development, public health, social equity, sustainability, and livability.
- Policymaking: Experience developing and implementing policies, rules, standards, and procedures.
- Human relations: Experience supervising staff and establishing relationships with staff, stakeholders, and interest groups.
- Fiscal Management: Experience managing large, complex budgets (e.g., multiple revenue streams, grants, revolving funds, legislative appropriations).
